Group ride

Everyone starts ride mode and enters the same code: positions show live on the map. No account, nothing is kept.

The ride in pictures

Views taken from the road at regular intervals (Panoramax, Street View). The point is shown on the map.

Compose a unique bike ride, with its landscapes in pictures and in 3D

Choose a start, a length, your bike and what you like to see: Vistavel draws several different rides, shows the scenery in photos, flies over each one in 3D with the forecast weather, and details profile, terrain, services and difficulty.

How it works

Four steps, no sign-up.

A start and your tastes

Loop or point to point, regular or electric bike, length, effort, views, water, heritage, nature or villages.

Unique rides

Points of interest around you (OpenStreetMap) serve as anchors: each ride heads in a different direction, on bike-friendly roads.

3D drone flyover

Fly over each ride on real terrain, in real conditions: sky, wind, rain and daylight at the time you would be there.

Everything you need to know

Distance, ascent and descent, calories, difficulty, profile, climbs, surfaces, road types, water, cafés, repair shops, stations, charging, sunset, signed GPX.

Frequently asked questions

How is a ride composed?

Points of interest around the start are read from OpenStreetMap, then picked by direction sectors to close a loop of the desired length; a bike router then draws each ride. Rides that look too alike are dropped.

What does the e-bike change?

Assistance makes hills less penalising: the route accepts more relief, speed and riding time change, calories count only the rider's share, and the remaining range is estimated at charging points.

Is the weather of the 3D flyover real?

Yes: Open-Meteo hourly forecasts at the start date and time you enter, applied to where you would be at each moment of the ride (sky, clouds, rain, snow, wind, night, sun). Beyond 16 days no forecast is available.

Can I load the ride on my bike computer?

Yes, as GPX: Garmin Connect, Wahoo, Komoot, Strava and most apps import it. The file carries the ride name and the vistavel.com signature.
