Before you go
The management group describes eight stages between 14 and 24 km; choose stage lengths according to fitness and to the accommodation available, which fills up in summer. The Loch Lomond shore is rough and slow underfoot, and Rannoch Moor and the Devil's Staircase are exposed to wind and rain. Check the official notices for diversions before each stage.
The route
The track comes from the OpenStreetMap superroute "West Highland Way", which chains the eight official stage relations into one continuous line. The distance is measured on this geometry without altitudes and is not a walking time. The alternative high route to Fort William is not included.
