Before you go
Allow six to eight days; the mountain stages are exposed and some forestry tracks and moorland paths are wet and muddy. Accommodation is limited on parts of the route and often lies off the trail, so plan each night before setting out. Dogs are not permitted, and diversions for forestry work are published by Sport Ireland: check them before each stage.
