Before you go

A wilderness permit is required for every night in the park and reservations are strongly recommended for the summer; the park also allows first-come permits a day ahead at its wilderness information centres. Snow often covers the high sections until July and rivers can be difficult to ford after rain. Plan food caches or resupply at the road access points and carry a stove and bear-proof food storage.

The route

The track comes from the OpenStreetMap relation "Wonderland Trail" and forms one continuous loop. The distance measured on this geometry is shorter than the 93 miles published by the National Park Service, a difference of mapping and simplification rather than a different route. It is computed without altitudes and is not a walking time.
